Happy Saint Hangover Day. (His sainthood is under some harsh scrutiny)
Dungeons and Dragons, or any pen and paper adventurethon, has a unique atmosphere. You know that everything you are saying and doing is simultaneously stupid, and fantastically awesome. Running a game is even better. There's nothing better than walking in with a grand narrative in mind only to have a player destroy all possible ways for it to work in the first five minutes. No seriously, it's great. After this happens you're suddenly set free, the world and its rules become malleable.
Unfortunately, I know in my heart that this style of play is basically improvisational acting with some dice, and God do I hate Improv. But hey, at least it's not LARPing.
