Well I gave it my best. I'm sure it's still Friday somewhere in the world.
Television is in a weird place right now. Honey Boo Boo exists in the same warped reality where Breaking Bad and Mad Men get fifth and sixth seasons. We cancel 30 Rock and film entire seasons of Community without showing them.
Obviously taste is a thing - but it's not about that. It's about the distance from A to B. It feels as if the two ends of the TV spectrum are desperately clawing away from each other, creating a divide of halfhearted first seasons that can't pick a side.
We get Revolution. We get The Newsroom.
The end of existence will be marked by a fantastic HBO version of The Dark Tower that no one watches because it airs at the same time as a show about a strip bar where they also mine for gold.
Actually, I'd watch that.
